I guess not knowing what to do can make a damage significant larger.
I can only guess what happened in the first place it however looks as if there was a small hole in the drywall. Instead of patching it nicely across two of the stuts and support the top and bottom with a piece of board, they cut diamond shape across two drywall sheets leaving the ends unsupported and trying to mud over the edges. The result unacceptable.
I think I saved myself some time and work when I ripped out both sheets and replaced the entire two drywall sheets. Quick and easy and no hassle down the road. And at ~$3.95 a sheet a no brainer. Now it all looks beautiful again.
Well that's what has kept me busy the past two weeks, renovating my place so that I can sell it in the outstanding conditions showing all the high quality work I had put into this little house during my three year renovation.
